Alameda County Law Library Main Gallery (Oakland)

Ongoing – October 5

M-F 9am-4pm

Dooha, Downhome Blues

Sometimes, it can be discordant when two artists share a space. That’s not the case at this show, where the harmonious artworks of Jeanie Dooha & Ruth Petersen Shorer brighten the days of those otherwise huddled over dense, seemingly impenetrable legal language.

Language… a tricky thing when it comes to music. As Robert G. Ingersoll noted, “Music expresses feeling and thought, without language; it was below and before speech, and it is above and beyond all words.” In a space filled with so many words, I will refrain from adding more. Instead, enjoy some images from the show.
