Angst & Ease on Canvas

For more than a decade, Sun Gallery has hosted Bay Area artists as they express their foreboding and trepidation regarding the state of our planet. You are thinking: “I already feel distressed. Why would I go see that?”

Simple answer: I’ve attending the Climate Change exhibitions for the prior two years. Yes, there is Sturm und Drang. There is also so much more. The works start with the challenges we face but then, it appears, the artists can’t help themselves. The art lifts them and their hope emerges.

You may enter the exhibition sighing & somber. You will walk out shining.

Since the exhibition has not opened yet, I have no pictures. Instead, I leave you with some images of art from the Climate Change exhibitions of years past.

💚 Deborah “Cricket” Gallegos, a member of the San Leandro Art Association, will have work appearing in this show.
