East Bay Open Studios

EBOS June 2025

If you’ve ever enjoyed EBOS, I don’t really need to say any more… Just get in your car and go.

If you’d like a bit of context, in 1969, there was a very funny James Garner/ Joan Hackett movie Support Your Local Sheriff. I can’t be sure it holds up after all these years, except for one thing: Time spent with Joan Hackett is always worth it.

Now, 56 years later, there’s a more noble pursuit. Step up. It’s time to:

Support Your Local Artist.

OK. If you insist, here are just a few more details.

Once again, through the amazing efforts of Oakland Art Murmur, we have the opportunity to explore the studios of 150+ East Bay artists, in 12 different cities.

A/K/A: An embarrassment of riches.

Additionally, you can participate in a number of special events:

  • Take the Berkeley Bus Tour to Artist Studios. This curated experience offers art lovers a unique opportunity to explore the vibrant creative community that makes Berkeley shine

  • Enjoy Mr. T’s Neighbors Whimsical Watercolor Art Demonstration by MsKikiArt

  • Plein Air Painting Demo by Leslie Golden

  • Fierce Kisses New Homoerotic Poetry Reading by M.J. Archangelini

  • Viva Ceramica tour of the Potters Guild, celebrating their 53rd year, The Guild is the longest ongoing ceramics collective in the US

  • Taller Graficante Up Cycle Print Jam. Be sure to bring 1-2 articles of clothes and the artists will have a curated selection of screens for you to choose and print from to create your own new garment aligned with Eco Conciseness!

Emerging Artists

With EBOS Spring 2025, Oakland Art Murmur introduces the Emerging Artist Program as part of its biannual East Bay Open Studios. This Program reflects Oakland Art Murmur’s commitment to cultivating creativity, diversity, and inclusivity within the East Bay’s vibrant arts community. The Program is designed to support emerging visual artists who are at the beginning of their careers and have limited experience exhibiting and selling their work.

“Remember when” … and be sure to include trips to their studios.

L to R, among the artworks of the Emerging Artists are these works by

Roland Martin, a painter and mixed media artist and

Trisha Mah, a collagist.

Some of the artists will only be showing for one weekend. Be sure to consult the EBOS Directory for dates and times for each artist.
