Doubles Anyone?

DEBORAH 🦗 Gallegos & SUSAN Howell

Adobe Art Center

ONE WEEK ONLY

Thursday – Friday – Saturday

11am – 3pm

The old Doublemint Gum commercial used to claim: “Double Your Flavor; Double Your Fun. I can’t say that the gum ever made good on that promise for me. However, there are some doubles in Castro Valley that have truly doubled my fun recently.

Because ArtInc. doesn’t provide early views of the many artworks on display, I waited to send out this notice until I had the time to attend the show myself. The images you see below all came from my phone, while I passed a pleasant afternoon admiring the works of the impressive number of creative types that have found a home in the Bay Area.

(Since I cannot raise my arms, some of the photos have a bit of a lopsided quality. My sincere apologies to the artists!)

Cedric Williams, Dolores Park, San Francisco

In addition to two paintings by SLAA’s own Cricket Gallegos plus two ceramic works by our own Susan Howell, you will find a wide range of artworks and mediums, including photography and papercutting. As the Center is staffed by the artists themselves, you will be able to enjoy greater insights into their creative methods and processes.

Works by Deborah "Cricket" Gallegos

Susan Howell, Seahorse (One of two works by the artist.)

Check out the works of two of last year’s SLAA Demo Artists:

Debra Collins award-winning work for her remarkable papercutting

Note that Collins' work is not a mirror image created by folding the paper in half.

Both sides of the work have separate and distinctive elements.

Azar Vaghefi with works in two mediums – ceramics and painting

Be sure to stop at the Adobe Art Center to view their current exhibition in their last week!
