A little bit about me
I’m a San Francisco Bay Area native, oil painter, and architectural color consultant. Back when I was getting my degree in studio arts, I took several courses from the amazing artist, Wayne Thiebaud; his mastery of color left a huge impression on me. During my art career, I’ve painted edible art on cakes, created decorative finishes and murals, and even ran a pet portrait painting business (using the psychology of color to capture each pet's personality traits). Following my obsession with color, I trained through the IACC, or International Association of Color Consultants (they really need a catchier acronym). I came back to painting in 2016, and have been following my bliss ever since.
My Current work
Peonies were my first love, then I discovered dahlias. I’m completely smitten and transfixed. I love painting them really really big, zoomed-in, and exploding off the edges of the canvas. I'm attracted to their vibrant colors, swirling twirling petals, and that glowing translucent quality that continues to befuddle me. On a deeper level, as I'm learning to take up space in the world, these dominant, massive blossoms mirror my inner journey as we evolve together.
