Nature Weatherings
Long ago on a beach in Florida I found a dozen small stones that looked like faces. I glued them onto a piece of driftwood that hangs in my home, so I am reminded of that walk daily. Since discovering those unique stones I tread carefully--along sidewalks, paths, trails, the desert, woods and beaches. I use my findings to create collages, sculptures and mobiles that showcase the inherent beauty of nature’s trees, stones, seeds, shells and more.
To some, my collections are detritus to be ignored, raked, swept, blown or thrown away. To me, they are “treasures” to repurpose and revitalize into art that reveals the symmetry, whimsy, beauty and resiliency of nature.
